Worst Trailer Comment Yet!

My husband and I were driving south out of Duluth a couple of weeks ago and we came across three guys towing burleys with their bikes. One of them yelled out: "Look at that rinky-dink trailer!" Ouch!
"Sleep a night in yours, and then let me know how rinky-dink mine is"

I dunno - I think I spent the first 80% of my life caring too much about what people thought of me. I have gotten to the point where I've realized a few things:

1] Other people's opinions are just that.
2] People want to open the book of my life in the middle, where they met me -- they have no context. Especially a stranger
3] Many so-called experts aren't.

If it makes them feel better about themselves to cast aspersions on me or my things, I feel sorry for them - they are stuck in a really immature and sad state of self-doubt and uncertainty, speaking from ignorance (or worse, stupidity)

I still have to wrestle with these two realizations/emotions:

1. There's a trailer format out there for everyone and their subjective needs. It's a little bit human nature that in order to justify our choice, there's a tendency to dismiss other choices as somehow wrong. I may not need to stand up in my trailer. Or have an indoor kitchen. Or an indoor bathroom. But you might. They make stuff for everyone. What I like isn't objectively The Correct Answer. Even among teardrops, I look at little things with the Vistabule that I envy a little bit. Or a Bean. Or whatever. But every build is a series of design compromises and you literally can't have everything in a single build.

2. I'm still actually offended if I'm staying at a busy campground and people DON'T come up to ask about my Camp-Inn!

Heh. HoneyBadger dont care.
Try to be the honey badger...

Or a Song Dog and play tricks on them...

"Uh yes, it actually does come with a hot tub option but its invisible until deployed..."

You're right. Its like so many things, one size does NOT fit all.

You have to forgive people when they're uninformed. ;)
Agreed!

Uninformed:
So cute! Do you sleep in that? Yes, it’s got a queen bed inside.

Insulting, baiting put down:
Look at that rinky-dink trailer! I’ve no time for you! Bullying strangers is how you spend your time? Good luck with that…

From dictionary.com:
  1. inconsequential, amateurish, or of generally inferior quality; small-time.
a rinky-dink college; He plays with some rinky-dink team.
  2. outmoded or shabby; backward; antiquated.
    a rinky-dink airline.
