Gazelle Gazebo Tandem

I know there are a variety of posts (and religious beliefs!) where "best" shelters are concerned. Have been looking at Quick-Set by Clam -- but damned if I can get clear picture on which, if any have secondary entrance. (Their customer service dolt swears none of them do. But I can point out a Cosmo Weems video definitely showing one.)

Beyond that, I'm seriously looking at this newish Gazelle Gazebo Tandem. Mostly because since they discontinued the G6 Deluxe, this is the only one with attached and zippered outer walls (and the aforementioned secondary entrance).

I suppose there are two levels of shelters to perhaps have on hand. The do-it-all, all-weather thing like the Gazelle or Clam, or a simpler, lighter thing just for nice weather and some shade.

Yeah, Clam makes a nice shelter with the Pavilion, but they never wised up to the fact that there was a whole new market for them if they added a second entrance so the main one could be used for the galley of a TD. The ones you have seen with the second entrance were added after purchase like I did.
I see from the link in your post, that Gazelle still has the Cool Top shelter, which is very similar to the G6 Deluxe, but with a screened ceiling for better ventilation and heat dissipation. It almost the same sq.footage as the one you are considering . It looks like either of them would work nice, just different floor plans.

I saw that one as well. Certainly an option. Though a few considerations:

* Open roof so a separate rainfly needed (might be a good thing depending on how you think about it)
* A little more money ($80).
* The tandem is 60 inches long packed up vs. 77 inches. Though it is "fatter"

I have a G6 Cool Top. And to call the zippered window a second entrance is a little misleading. There is a triangular window that unzips that you can climb in and out of but you need to be careful. If you are carrying anything in through that entrance you need to have someone pass it through especially food That being said it is a good shelter. It does come with a rain fly that is very good. We have been through several real storms with it and it stays dry and much cooler than a regular C6. I like that the sides are screens and the if you need privacy or storm protection nothing ti velcro. It just zips the sides up. The storm has to be pretty strong for a good time for the screens to really let anything in. You can put a 560 under it but a bit of a pain

Yes, we bought a G6 Deluxe too, and the step over when going through the second triangular entrance is something you need to be aware of to avoid tripping. The second entrance we had put in the Clam had about half the step over height of the Gazelle. Both the Clam and the G6 are longer than the Tandem, but they will fit inside the cabin of a 550....if you want to load it in the TV, your mileage may vary.

What makes it a bit of a pain?
