Och. I spent some time this morning winterizing the 560’s water system and hanging a few more hooks in the garage for all the stuff. Our season is over, all the best to everyone at CICO!
 
Launch of the 931 space capsule has been delayed 18 hours. I made an appointment at the Madison VA for Monday and will be halfway there. So I’ll be staying two more days out on the road at the end of the trip. I’m mostly packed and just need to do the toiletries at the last hour. I’ll buy groceries in Necedah.

Necedah does not have a grocery store. You will want to plan a stop elsewhere for groceries on the way.

Waiting on 40 mph winds from the Hurricane to arrive along with some 60-70 mph gusts. And a lot of rain. So what time will I lose power and for how long will it be out. I predict 2:49 and it will be out for 36 hours. And if it is out for longer than that, I’m loading up Jeremiah and going camping somewhere.

We are feeling it in Florida! We’re on the east coast and getting gusts at the moment up to 50mph. I really feel for the people in the great bend area now that it’s up to category 4 with winds at 140mph. Complete devastation unfortunately.
 
To those who are coming to CICO, I can tell you the skies are shocking blue, with a few fluffy cumulous clouds. The breeze wonderful, and the air perfumed with pine. I honestly didn't remember the fragrance last year -- but it is intoxicating.

I walked over to A loop, which was open, but there was no snower, and no one was there, of course --- it was unrecognizable. The shelter of yore is gone, and the feeling of "ok, now where is my spot?" vanished since they've built 'pads' -- hopefully the rock getes tamped down -- it would be tough on the tootsies to walk there.

The loop we're in is filling up -- the chatter and banter from sites around me remind me of my childhood standing around the back fence talking to our neighbors about who knows what --- things that weren't important in any way, except that the conversations cemented the participants in a community. This is what camping is about.

I set up in a more central spot this year. I'm on the road behind the treeline just north of the showers. Its so much quieter and relaxing not having the endless serenade of pickups and cars transporting people to and fro.

Next to me is Tour931, and there is a spot just to my east. Power might be the only problem since the power pole is already taking my 50 foot cord to plug in. Of course, it really ins't needed -- the temperature is spot on perfect, eliminating the need for AC and heated blankets.
 
What a great weekend it was --- I just rolled into the homestead about half an hour ago. It was, as always, great to see old friends and make no ones.
