Water coming out from under sink

So, I turned on the sink in my 560 and water was coming from somewhere underneath. Something must have frozen and broke during the winter. (We didn't use the sink during the winter, but there were some cold nights.)

Anybody know what to do here? (especially, anybody whose name is Cary or Craig? :) )

Well Evan, not being an owner I'm kinda shooting in the dark here with your 560, but I have had experience with this kind of things repairing RVs on the side. From what I've seen from posted pictures, you should be able to access the underside of the sink from the left undercounter storage cabinet. Get yourself teloscoping inspection mirror. Turn the water on long enough to get things wet, then try to find the leak using the mirror. I would also think that you should be able to remove the sink as well to get a better look. My best guess is a cracked hose that had water in it and froze. Good Luck.

Evan, remove the left panel in the under counter storage area with a few screws and you will be able to see everything just fine - including the trap that you put antifreeze in.

Evan,

Hopefully you pulled the cover off already as per Hilditch. Under there you will see the water pump and just before it you will see a good sized round plastic part with a clear cover. This is the water strainer. Likely this is what failed. Always the weak spot when frozen. The water lines are pretty freeze proof so likely no water line damage. Does the water pump run? I would be more concerned about the pump being damaged. The strainer is cheap and easy to replace.

Cary I removed the cover to look under my sink and found that the a/c drain pipe is not sealed where it goes through the bottom of the tear drop, you can see the ground should it be sealed.Steve :)

Steve,

It is not intended to be sealed. You can seal it if you need. I have had customers seal that up to keep insects from coming up in there. No other reason too though.

Thanks Cary you were so quick you almost answered the question before i asked it,now thats costomer service.Steve :)

Cary, I haven't opened anything up yet, but the pump was running - at least there was a lot of pump noise, and water was coming out onto the ground. Does this mean my pump is OK?

Evan,

Not sure. Does the water come out when the pump is running only? That would seem a bit odd. I wonder if you maybe ruptured something between the pump and the faucet. Normally when the strainer freezes and breaks it does not allow water to get to the pump.

I'm out of state for a few weeks, but I'll check it out when I get back.

So I opened things up and found a loose hose clamp on the 'T' fitting after the pump. I'm not sure if it just rattled loose or if the cold weather forced it loose somehow. It's just about impossible to push one of the hoses back over the fitting with one hand, so I had to unscrew the pump to get the hose out where I could work on it.

Everything went back together and we're back in business.
Thanks for the input and advice on this one!
