    Jenn,

Based upon the statement "I use the extension ring to lift the cooking surface up off the coals.", I will need to develop another plan. My Cobb does not have the extension.
Winter photo shows extension, summer photo doesn't show extension. Did not catch the difference until noted in post.

Guessing that baking sheet pan rests on extension lip. Adds 2 to 3
    inches.

Did the Chocolate chip burn quickly with the extension ring.

OK all you Cobbers, can you use a Dutch Oven in the Cobb?

Jenn, you are just a cooking fool.

    And a good cook, too.

I haven't seen any posts discussing the Volcano II collapsable. So I bought one. Now by the time CI-CO comes around, I should be used to it, so I think a fun thing for that week end would be a side by side comparison. Have done 3 different types of cooking so far. Grilled burgers (charcoal), fixed the famous cinnamin rolls, (charcoal), fixed the wild rice and sausage dish (charcoal), bacon and eggs (propane), have not used wood yet. So far I like it.

    Watcha think Cobbers?

Yeah, do that. Then you can wrap up the goodies, hire a refrigerated truck and send it all on to me. I'd be pleased to act as your official taste tester.

    Yummy!

    Cook On,

  14. Has anyone ordered the
All New Cobb Solid Charcoal BBQ Briques by Lokkii (6 x 4 packs)?

    I see they are $60.

Not sure if this is any bargain. Brickets are not expensive and at that rate 6 X 4 or 24 meals for $60.00 thats $2.50 for each time you use the Cobb or similar grill.

About $30.00 and I would be interested.

  16. that was my thoughts too and we always carry charcoal for the Dutch Ovens anyways. Just wondered how well they worked.

When I ordered my Cobb, I ordered the brickettes too. Got the 35% discount and free shipping on them as well as the Cobb. After Christmas, we shall give it whirl and report back.
I like the briquettes in that they are more compact than a bag of charcoal and thus will be used on trips when space is an issue. Also, easier and cleaner to take on the sailboat to Catalina than a bag of charcoal.

  18. Great, I'll be waiting to read about how they work out for you.
    Enjoy the holiday and sailing
