BTW, the reference I linked to may not be up to date. At the very bottom, I just read that it is copyrighted 2006.

That's one thing about our Camp-Inn...even if I find myself going a little over the speed limit, it always keeps up! But it's respectful...it hasn't passed me even once.

Washington State law is certainly confusing about this. The current law on trucks is:

(WSDOT). State law also mandates a maximum speed limit of 70 mph,
with the exception of vehicles over 10,000 pounds gross weight (large trucks) and vehicles in combination (trucks with trailers, for example). Their maximum speed is 60 mph.

The key term is vehicles in combination, for clarification on this see: State Patrol Notice

Not that you would know anybody knows these rules or follows them :)

    Gawd, talk about "Interpertation Zone"...

I read the " This restriction applies to all vehicles towing a trailer regardless of the size of vehicle or trailer (RCW 46.61.410). to mean back down to 60 or what trucks are posted to...

to the reg Clear as mud...

Vehical "Stages"... WTF does that mean... Stages, towing and if the combo is under 10k it's a car? sigh... for 2-3 (60 vs 65, actual driving at 63)... I'll play it save...

I figure if all is running smoothly, they'll look for the real bad guys. If you're doing something scary, then they'll get ya as well they should...
    Done at 63mph...

Frank, in case you were wondering what an auto stage is:

    RCW 46.04.050

    Auto stage.

"Auto stage" means any motor vehicle used for the purpose of carrying passengers together with incidental baggage and freight or either, on a regular schedule of time and rates: PROVIDED, That no motor vehicle shall be considered to be an auto stage where substantially the entire route traveled by such vehicle is within the corporate limits of any city or town or the corporate limits of any adjoining cities or towns.

and to add more confusion to the pile, even the newspapers are confused: PI Blog

I plan on traveling just behind the guy that is going to get picked up for speeding.

Heheh, right behind them, yep, great minds think alike although I've seen 2-3-4 cars pulled over at the same time.

He/she comes up behind you sits, assumed gets license, then comes along side and waives you over, then immediately goes to the next one... so 63mph and counting.... plus? better gas accoring to Craig via Cary...

My head is spinning. How many rules must there be?

On a side note, I learned from one of the lads books last night that the stop light was invented before cars. So there's that.

I can verify that for CA it's 55 mph for any type of trailer at all and you can never tow a trailer in a carpool lane. Speed limit for commuters is 65 mph. There are signs posted down every interstate and highway to remind you to go 55. Have to say I like it driving slower. A lot less stressful and better gas milage. Yeah, it takes longer to get there but that's ok. No big snow storms to try to beat in the fall like last year when I took I-90 back a month after the CICO. Did not want to cross the passes in Montana and Idaho too late and get stuck in a blizzard or need chains so I may have driven a little faster than usual.
