I think I saw that one at the Dam Gathering a few years back. Or maybe it was a different one. It is so cool.

FYI. If you're ever trying to hide out in the Pacific Northwest, don't have anything out of the ordinary or Michael will spot you for sure! Perhaps he was an undercover agent in another life?

Now in all fairness Gina and Bob I normally restrict my posts to teardrop trailer related sightings. I wouldn't normally post pictures of The Hawaiian Chieftan that's in dry dock today or the antique auto meet at Fort Worden State Park this past weekend...





...unless prompted of course ;-) ...

...and I don't usually post pictures I stumble across while surfing the net no matter how cute they are. Well maybe just this once.

I always love your photos and look forward to your travels. We were trying to decide on a trailer when I started reading your posts after picking up your teardrop. Awesome TD and the tow vehicle had me wondering if I could use a mini too. Alas, husband burst bubble saying the mini wouldn't fit our overall needs, but I did custom build one on their website!
Your adventure home was one of the reasons we went with a CI.
As always, keep those pictures posting! if I can figure out how to post pictures, I'll try and join the fun!

Our Mighty Mini was a perfect match for our 550, pulled strong in the hot desert and up steep mountain grades, got us in and out of really tight campsites and what have you...



...the turbo Mini would be a nice match for the 560. We talked with a couple from the Golden State camping on the Oly Peninsula that pulled a Little Guy 6 by 8 with their turbo Mini and loved it.



Gina and Bob, I had no idea that "The Dew Drop Inn Chronicles" had such a strong influence on your CI purchase...are you reading this Cary? When can we expect our check?

...well, maybe not an infestation, just saw the one so far...



... the nice folks from Oregon said their pride and joy was built in Texas and that they had to go all the way across the country to pick it up and bring it back...

We considered a Cricket, but then found a teardrop and the rest is history as they say!

 

Ya know, crickets turn into locus at the drop of the hat...or humidity. And speaking of swarms - a huge one of Campinns is forecast for the PNW this August.

Heaven knows we'll be winging it north with the rest.

And maybe even east in September....

Saw this ultra cool vintage teardrop at Point Hudson campground in Port Townsend today. Folks said it was a 1946 Kit, lovingly restored by a previous owner.



They had her decorated with a poster size picture of Marilyn Monroe so I asked is that her name and they said she has no name we just call her Kit. I don't know, but Norma Jean might be the way to go.

If there was ever a place within the lower 48 where you can camp beneath the giants and still be within a stones throw of this spectacular western coastline, you'd be hard pressed to find a better spot than Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island WA.



The sites here are from an old school ascetic, very spacious and private. which makes for a very relaxing experience, none of that hog to jowl feeling of more modern campground layouts.

That's cuz the park was created from an ex military base ( like many of the public spaces in these parts) to a state park way back in the 30s. The CCC had an important role here, many of the structures in the park survive from that time.







It's the natural beauty of the place that bring in the throngs of people, you gotta plan ahead...



...so if you are fortunate enough to visit, take a moment, slow down, don't rush off, this may be The Place...enjoy...



...you certainly don't want to rush around and miss out on seeing the special flora and fauna of the Great Pacific Northwest.

What is that creature under the bridge picture? Snake? Slug?
First I thought it was a snake eating something (thought the green part was the snake and eating the darker part).
Great pictures too. Really want to see the Pacific Northwest, sigh. Maybe someday.....

 

That's a banana slug Gina and Bob...



...isn't she/he cute!...( #bananaslugs are hermaphroditic )

...folks up here love the little dears... I should say big dears, as slugs go these things are huge!..





...they show up on greeting cards and mugs...



...people like to dress their dogs up in banana slug costumes...

...heck it's the UCSC mascot...





... and you know where all that passion can lead to...



...yep, you got it, tattoos too...



...so when you do visit the PNW Gina and Bob, step lightly, you never know what's lurking underfoot.

Eeewwwww.. Jenn, you got it on your shoes?! Yuck!

That is major sticky stuff. I hear the slime from a banana slug is so strong, it can stop a bus.

No, really. There was this tourist bus traveling along the Avenue of the Giants and got lost at night... You know, slugs are nocturnal. Oh, yeah, they come out at night, like vampires, and slither along the ground, leaving that sticky, nasty trail of sludge, then slide under a rock or foliage or something large and preferably dead. Then they just sit there. Hiding. Lying in wait for a tourist bus to come along and then -

Oh my, look at the time. Gotta get dinner started.

Jenn, you stepped on a banana slug, man oh man that can be dangerous, you know like stepping on a banana peel...



...to be avoided at all costs...



...it's gotta be why they're cautionary yellow...



...of course their will always be a few among us that are attracted to danger...



...but for the rest of us a few of these posted in strategic spots ( like Rhododendron Drive ) may be the prudent course, safety first right.
