Solar... Check my work?

Hi, I recently installed solar capability on my 2006 Camp-inn trailer. I use it in 2 ways currently; I'm unsure about the second method for storage battery upkeep.

1. *In use charging*
-upgraded battery to 100ah sealed battery
-added a solar controller which is directly wired to the battery
-added an external port to plug in my solar panels (I have a 50w and a 100w panel of which either could be plugged in to recharge the battery)
--above solar port input is wired to the solar controller

Does this setup seem OK?t It seems to work fine and even with just the 50w solar panel plugged in, running the lights, usb charging our phones and even supporting the BougeRV refrigerated cooler it generally keeps the battery tip-top.

2. *Storage battery upkeep*
I have a (home) roof mounted panel I plug into my trailer using the solar port mentioned above to maintain the battery. I'm not certain this is the right way to maintain the battery when the trailer is not in use since it's directly charging the battery VS a trickle charge through a battery maintainer

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I think it comes back to the solar controller. Is it a “smart” charger, multi-stage with a storage stage?

Pardon me -- I'm a little confused. What onboard charger are you using to turn 120v into 12 volts? I think CI installed Battery Tender in your year, but I'm not 100% certain. This (or the noco) expect to be attached directly to the battery. Connecting these to the solar controller probably will get weird.

What formulation of battery? I assume lead acid or deep cycle -- but technically, a lithium is also sealed -- I want to make sure were talking the same thing....
