Check if CI still sells the OEM side tents separately? They are extremely well made, seamstress wise- marine grade IMHO. Well worth it if you are doing a lot of camping.
Some standalones 'can' work- snugged up next to the sides but you have to created custom sewn adaptations that strap to the CI similar to the OEM tent, to really keep the skeeters out in swampy land or meat hornets up jorth in the summer. Read threads here.
If you just need a place to pee, change, or shower inside- check out the Playing With Sticks yourube channel. We really are spoiled out in the SWUS...flying desert bugs are light to non-existent compared to say,
most of the SEUS, and the wooded midwest and northern forests, bug-wise.
Just watch where you put your feet down anywhere shady and cool.,.Mr Rattlesnake is quiet and harmless until you step on him.
And shake out your shoes in the morning or better, keep them in a sealed plastic box under the CI at night.
Those wood scorpions hurt like $#%?!.
And fire ants...I hate those sumbitches...
