When Susan and I moved from Toronto to Florida our first night in the state was Flagler Beach at a seaside motel. Flagler Beach is a beautiful place, the beach sand is colored gold, happy to see that large numbers of pelicans are still cruising the beach. We thought at the time that if the rest of Florida is like Flagler Beach that we'd be pretty happy in our new state,,,

The sand is golden/orange colored because of the crushed coquina shells. I have been to most beaches in Florida since the early 1970's and no other look like Flagler Beach! And, by the way, the park ranger who gave us our "Turtle Talk" back in the summer told us, on this visit, that there were 180 sea turtle nest's recorded this nesting season!
