Replacement AC unit

Apologies for the double post (I posted most of this content elsewhere in reply to a discussion about installing a 12V AC system), however, I've been meaning to share this find and figured this probably deserved its' own thread....

We a purchased a new to us 2012 raindrop last summer. On our initial shakedown trip (90+ in the Nebraska summer) while trying to escape the afternoon heat and get our 4 yo and not quite 1 yo down for an afternoon nap our AC cut out!

After contacting the Nest and learning they could no longer guarantee repair or source a replacement of the original unit. . .I did some research....

I found the GE model AWFS05BWL at Lowe's (Lowe's Item No.: 5632082) to be identical in dimensions and spec to the original unit (photos even matched the case contours). Since the unit was less than shipping to WI and having nothing to lose I took a chance...

The unit turned out to be a drop in replacement (near as I can tell the unit is identical) and has been running strong and blowing cold air ever since! For the cost I've thought about buying a second to have, just in case .....YMMV
