Privacy shelters

Light Speed apparently has decided not to manufacture their shower/privacy shelters any longer. Any recommendations for an alternative? I see a similar product from Kamp Rite. Anyone familiar with it? Looking for a stand alone, not an attachment to the trailer.

Thanks. I have looked at Cabela's and they do seem to have a good one but It shows 33 lbs in weight which is twice what others I've looked at are. But you are out on the road a lot it appears so if you're using it and it's working for you that's a good sign.

I just ordered this Oztrail model, only available from Kakadu Camping, a Canadian company. Came out to $98 US, shipped. Will report back on how well it works. I looked hard at the new easy-up Cabela's model, but I agree, too heavy and bulky.

That's a pretty nifty set up and put down. Wouldn't take up much space either. I do worry about securing it against wind and rain but I'm sure you looked into that.

Just a "Heads UP" on the folding-twisty ones... Yikes...heheh..

I say that having gone through 3 of them and never really getting the closing/folding up thing right. Once you bend the stays, it's toast.

They are great, storing size-wise and setting up, they almost "Pop-up" themselves, but closing up???.. heheh.... I hope you have better luck than I had. Probably more of a conceptual thing for me in trying to figure it out and obviously not getting it right. Turning left instead of right or on top instead of bottom, whatever, good luck.

I finally got a beer, sat back and watched several others try it for some 30-min without success (could have been the bend stays thing).. very entertaining though..

Sure looks easy in the video Frank! Maybe I better have the beer before before I start!

As much as we liked the Cabela's, we did sell it as it took up too much space and weight like you said. We didn't replace it. Instead, we set up our REI In-camp tent as our extended living space and use it for a variety of purposes. We're fine without a specific privacy tent.
