No tent

A few years ago my wife and I took an over night canoe paddle on the Kankakee River in NE Illinois.
We had a great paddle the first day, got to our camp site and started setting up camp, there was only one problem neither one us remembered to bring the tent. Luckily it was a dry warm night and we did have a tarp that we were able to fashion a lean to out of by laying the canoe on its side and hang the tarp on.
Thats what adventures are all about.

Oly, that's funny! Bob and I took a group of Scouts to summer camp one year and decided to camp at Belfair State Park (WA) on the way back home. Somehow, the poles got separated from the tent while it was in the garage, which we didn't realize until it was time to go to bed. Fortunately, there were two trees close enough together to string the tarp (the tent was too heavy for the skinny rope we had) BUT the tree dropped seed pods on the tarp all night long! Lesson learned - check for poles before taking off. But now, we don't have to worry about that - yeah!!!!!
