Gawd, Texas and California are big states! Just back from a solo and somewhat rushed outing from Houston to California to see my only grandson (who probably inherits the 560 Ultra some day if he behaves himself). Friggin' 4,000 miles round trip in just over a week. Only scenic stopover was a quick visit to White Sands National Park, which I hadn't been to since I was a kid and was (sorta) on the way. Other than that, just did overnight stopovers at rest stops along the way.
The 560 Ultra was a pleasure (and quite a hit among the Cali crowd). First time towing in the mountains in Subaru Outback Wilderness. Towed with ease but had to remind myself to let that CVT cool down at points. (Remind me to mock up a "Camp-Inn app" that does one thing only: Pops up with notifications to remind you "It may not feel like it, but you really ARE pulling a trailer!)
Also: I think I'm an earthquake magnet: Experienced my first ever in Santa Cruz -- a 5.1 centered 12 miles away. And during drive home I noted earthquake in New Mexico and series of TEN small ones around San Antonio (stupid fracking). So far, Houston remains safe.
