Gamble Rogers State Park is located at Flagler Beach, FL. There are 34 camp sites on the beach loop of which several have an excellent view of the ocean. There are 31 camp sites on the Intercoastal loop. The Intercoastal loop is only 8 yrs old and the campsites are larger than the beach loop. The Intercoastal camp sites are gravel versus sand on the beach loop. There is no shade on the beach loop, and very little on the Intercoastal loop. The campground has a boat ramp, kayak launch, kayak rentals, picnic areas, nature trail, and offers many activities throughout the year such as music jams, rock painting, crabbing lessons, etc. Flagler Beach is a small town of less than 3,500 people and all the restaurants are local. No chain restaurants in town, but many excellent restaurants are found in town. The sand at Flagler Beach is Coquina Sand which is more coarse than white sand, and tends to stick to you also. Coquina Sand is very rare. St. Augustine is a short 40 minute drive north for those who enjoy history.
