WY National Park Colter Bay (Grand Tetons)

  1. We were a little disappointed with this one. It was not horrible but far from great. It is huge for one. In the same area you can rent cabins, tent cabins, and their is a separate RV Park with full hookups. You are assigned a site as you arrive. The grass was pretty tall in the sites and the bathrooms were just okay. In the Colter Bay Village there is grocery, laundry, showers (they close at 5:30 pm so don't hike or fish too late into the day. You can book any of the Grand Teton Ldge Company excursions here or pick up your tickets the day before if you booked online from home. There is a nice marina where you can a rent a boat, kayak, canoe to take out on Lake Jackson. This is run by The Grand Teton Lodge Company. I would stay here again but only for 1 night since it rarely fills and then move to Signal Mountain the next morning.

  2. No, it is in the Park but it is run by a concessionaire, Grand Teton Lodge Company.

Back in 1991, while camping with our 4 kids, we rolled in to Colter Bay campground and decided to just keep going. Sounds like things haven't changed much.
