I voted early this time - never did that before. I kinda miss not walking over to the regular polling place today...

All of Oregon votes by mail. We don't have polling stations anymore. I like it, because I can sit down and take my time. My son gets to see me vote and we talk about things as well. A little different than when my folks took us to the polling stations when we were kids, but I think the lesson is the same. We have an obligation.

Washington State is mail-in only also. The thing I miss most about going to the polls is watching a young person who is able to vote for the first time. It always made my heart swell.

Kathy & Bob, Sarah:

I learned something new; didn't know that Washington state and Oregon were mail-in only.

This is the first general election that I've had to stand in line and wait to vote. Curious to see what the final voter turn-out was for this election. So glad to have the robo phone calls stop.

Yeah, elections over. No more commercials, commercials, commercials. Now, maybe they can finally stop arguing, act like intelligent adults and DO THEIR JOB DONE FOR A CHANGE!

Any bets?

I just learned that many of the robo-calls I was receiving were POLLS, not $$ requests

not so pleased with myself that I ignored every one

then again, I probably would not have told them who I was voting for, so....

I know....same here. We were averaging 5 to 6 calls each and every day for a month at least. My memory probably fails me, but I just do not remember there being that many calls in one day, every day in previous elections. Of course, these were recorded messages we received, not live.

I suppose it pays off being in a state that doesn't matter when it comes to a National
election! No robo calls here. Heck, we didn't even have presidential ads until a week before election day. We had plenty of other measures and officials beating us over the head, so we didn't escape completely unscathed. Just glad it is all over.

Same here. Being from Illinois we didn't have to worry about presidential campaign ads - just the locals beating themselves up, which was bad enough. Makes me very glad we have a dvr so we can bypass all the nonsense.

Yeah, outside of non stop robo calls on local stuff, the big boys ignored us too...except for money trips to the deep pocket folks. If you're rich, you can buy a lunch or dinner date with all the power movers. The rest of us can go hang.

But I'm not bitter.

Sue
