Hey guys,

For some reason the shout box is missing...at least on our screen. So for all our friends on the East Coast from Pennsylvania to the Carolinas and from Florida all along the Eastern Seaboard, be careful with this coming storm.

Maybe it's time to turn your teardrops into survival gear if you haven't already.

Stay safe.

Sue and Jim

Not just the shout box...when on the forum list page, the only thing showing up on the left is who is online. When you open a thread, that changes & the only things there are the announcement box, top posters & featured photo....

Must be gremlins at work...or maybe the competition has hacked the system & is trying to cause trouble! :D :D :D :D

Hey! Now the "who's online" box is missing on the forum list page but the announcements, top posters & featured photo box are there...and the calendar is now showing up on the right hand side but when in the thread, everything is gone!...hmmmm....

Thanks, Sue and Jim.

Just filled my gas tank and waiting for my husband to get home so that we can secure everything.
We are on high ground but have tall trees around us. Didn't help when the local news said we haven't had a storm like this one since the 1950's. Not exactly sure what the guy meant, but it certainly heightened the anxiety.
Say a prayer!

Sue,
Bug out bags are packed and the trailer is ready to roll …although I don't think we'll need it for this storm. We're about 100 miles inland from the coast. We usually just end up loosing power (for days) due to trees taking out power lines, so the galley stove and propane could come in handy.

Thanks for thinking about us …stay safe everyone!

Just got hold of my uncle in Maryland. He and Auntie are right on the Chesapeake. They don't listen to news much and were unaware of the monster on the way. They are now all up on the Nor-Easter from hell. They're heading to Connecticut as we speak (at least, I hope so).

Deb and Kyle, glad you have the bug-out bags ready as you are also right on the water. Stay sharp, stay safe and hall a-- if you need to.

AJ and Michelle, you stay safe too and keep away from those trees.

And Jenn, hunker down, girlfriend. You're in for a ride also.

Everyone in the path of Frankenstorm, you are all in our prayers. We'll be watching the weather reports and hoping for the best.

Sue,

Don't mean to be a downer, but Connecticut is still in the path. We have family in the Boston area, where some of the metropolitan area, & as well as family & friends up in New Hampshire. Along with NYC, mass transit won't be running, schools are cancelled...lots happening.

Mass Evacuations Ordered

Sending out good thoughts & prayers!

Yeah, I know. But at least they won't be sitting directly on top of the Chesapeake. No, seriously, they live right on it. Fish for crab off the pier in the back yard. They have a four foot flood clearance and the storm is promising six feet or worse.

Hope they don't get stubborn and stay...

Sue

Good news: my uncle and aunt hoofed it over to their place in DC and only had a little flooding in the basement. Unknown if the house along the Chesapeake is above or under water. They're fine and that's what counts. Now I have to try and contact our nephew and his family just outside of Baltimore. They were okay yesterday, but that's yesterday.

So far, so good. Hope everyone else is alright.

HOW ARE YOU ALL DOING OVER THERE???? Those with power and a bit of spare time, please chime in.

Sue and Jim

Hi Sue & Jim,
Glad your relatives are safe. It wasn't too bad here in southern Maine, a lot of power outages and downed trees or branches. It seems a whole lot worse south of us!
Charlie

Sue and Jim, everyone,

We're okay in Williamsburg. No damage whatsoever. The lights flickered a couple of times but did not lose power. Very fortunate indeed.
Everything was closed down on Monday. School opened on Tuesday with a 2 hour delay. Couple of my students said they lost power for about 4 hours.

Our son and daughter live in Fairfax and Alexandria, VA. Neither had damage.

Thanks everyone for prayers and thoughts.

Deb

Just got word from my niece near Baltimore. The family is fine. Lost power for a while, lots of flooding and downed trees, but otherwise okay.

Glad you guys are safe, Deb, Kyle, Charlie and Bernice. I'm hoping the rest of the forum clan hit by the storm are not in distress.

Stay smart, stay safe.

Sue

Thanks, Sue.

I feel real bad for the people in NJ and NY, and all up along that area.
It will be several weeks and months for people to repair and rebuild. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones.

Deb

Hi guys we are ok. We just got power back last night at our house in Staten Island. Our home and family are fine, but our neighborhood is a disaster area. There are thousands of people in our area in very very bad shape. We were very lucky.

Anna and Steve,

I did not make the connection between you and Sandy. I am glad to hear that you are safe. My thoughts are with you and your neighbors. Hopefully, it will not be too much longer before they restore services to everyone. It sounds like it will be quite some time before everything is cleaned up.

Joan

Joan thanks for keeping us in your thoughts. We have been on the road, but our kids have been sending us pictures and information. It does not look or sound good.
