SOLD Brand New 560 Ultra For Sale

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

That Redi-set-go is fast & quick for "wop biscuits" (in a can that you wop on the counter) - 6 or 7 mins. Cheaper than a toaster oven too...

Electric Grill - we LOVE our George Foreman electric grill - never use anything else - I eat steaks OUT...But burgers and chicken breasts (I split mine to make them thin) cook in about 7 mins. too. Those breasts are ready before I get the chicken flavored rice ready! I just sprinkle some season salt on them and grill'em up! Yum!

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

I hated the George Foreman electric grill.... gave to oldest son when he moved out. Hope he likes the thing.

Looked at the Redi-set-go, know that device isn't for me either.

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

The reason I like the G. Foreman grill is causre it's fast and easy clean up with paper towels, but for steaks it ain't! But it's not perfect I agree - wish it laid flat, but since it doesn't I'll just use it till it dies. We also have a propane grill (cheapo) that I like and I may take to use for burgers and this camp stove I found for $39.00 - great reviews too - Coleman's - a lot cheaper than the other one I mentioned and folds flat!

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

I have dreamed of obtaining this oven. Stop because I have 3 dutchovens, which can be used for baking, or should say burning cakes.

Why and how is Evan editing ladymc posts?

I'm changing her opinions to match mine.... LOL

Actually, I was fixing her links to make them clickable. (I can do that because I'm the big cheese around here.) :)

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

I think this would be perfect for me to reheat prepared dinners for weekend trips.

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

We have one of them and aside from the temp being a little hard to control it works great.

Evan, only in your mind are you the big cheese for a couple valid reasons:

1-Lovely Lena is the big cheese in your household.
2-Most importantly, you do NOT live in Wisconsin, who are the only true cheeseheads!!!!

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

I have use the Little Alum ones, worked ok, but sharp edges, a little flimsy and warps when heated.
Now use a Dutch Oven with a flame diffuser on the stove. Seems to work ok. Just use it to heat the morning Cin-rolls.. haven't tried to cook/bake in it yet..

I guess this oven would be great if you're boondocking, but I think for me (who loves shore power) I'll use the Xpress Redi-Set-Go for all my baking needs. Can't beat it - bakes faster than you can preheat that oven!

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

LadyMc, You and I are alike in our love of electricity -- shoot, I even married a man who's responsible for making it! I'm thinking of making a REALLY GOOD QUALITY electric skillet as my mainstay. You can bake in those, though obviously you're limited to a skillet-shape and it takes a bit of practice.

I'm still thinking that I don't want the Camp Inn stove at all -- I'd rather rely upon small appliances or (or dutch ovens for campfire cooking).

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

Theresa - I totally agree about the stove except for one thing - In case possible boondocking in an emergency the stove would be nice to have. But since I bought my 560 "used" it already had a stove in it...I think I would have left it out...

I'm all about electricity - heck the way I see it, I'm already paying for a campsite and if electric's already there, why buy propane?

I thought of the electric skillet - you can put biscuits in a pan and put the pan in the skillet and cover and it'll bake. I can also bake over an open campfire but I don't want to wait for the fire to die down to coals - when I'm hungry I don't like to wait!

So, since I already have the Xpress Ready Set Go it'll do all my baking. I can't believe so many people here have nixed it based up some reviews they've read - well I for one use it all the time and absolutely think it's the best RV'ers tool to have!

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

I know our camping habits -- Boondocking isn't something that excites us. I think I'd rather keep the electric skillet and similar items in the "first string" storage areas . . . and on the rare occasion that I'm not going where electricity lives, then I can take the (admittedly inferior) propane stove that I already own.

The Camp Inn stove is way better then any "Coleman" stove available!!!!!! To me one of the items that should never be left off a build. Best of all it has it's own storage place.

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

We were going to skip the stove but then thought it was a good idea for future resale value. But we used the stove everytime we have been out. It is much better than the old Coleman propane stove we used to use. It is convenient, easy to clean and very versatile. Since it sits back of the counter it is not effected by light breezes.

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

Jean,
I think Pat has it right on the resale value and for that reason alone I wouldn't exclude the stove.

But I also think Theresa has it right for US. We like electricity and we're not boondockers. Since I live in a campground in a 5th wheel right now, I know how I'll cook when I'm in the Raindrop - it won't be any different than right here except that I'll be standing outside rather than inside.

I think every person has a different reason for getting a Raindrop or Teardrop. Our reason was so we could travel because dragging a 5th wheel around the country is too much for us - we know, we tried it. But we do like living in it, so we downsized from a huge house to a 33 ft. 5'er. But to travel the Raindrop is PERFECT - I have to have a couch because of 2 back surgeries -laying flat all the time is not an option and on rainy days I won't want to be outside. That's why a Rain over a Tear.

But some people like to DO cook (so do I when I'm in the mood and really enjoy it) but I don't want to purchase and haul all that weight, at least for now. But when I want to eat I don't want to wait and that's why electricity is so good - for me.

The propane stove requires that I purchase propane when I run out, which is ok as a backup. But for everyday use, since I'll be paying for electricity anyway, I figure "Why pay for propane?"

But if you're a boondocker, DO cooker, wilderness kind of camper, the Rain/Tear is perfect for that too.

I just want to use it as a cheaper way to travel from state to state, then go and do what I want to go and do or see. I 'll be sitting by campfires too though...I love the outdoors - as long as I can go back inside and knit!

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

LadyMc has the right of it: Buying a "full package" will be good for re-sale, but I never consider re-sale when I buy something. I want exactly what I want, and I'm not willing to put up with other stuff just in case I one day want to sell the item.

I am 100% certain that the Camp Inn model is the "Cadillac" of propane stoves, but -- no matter how nice it is -- I don't want a propane stove. I've been camping for more than four decades, so this is hardly an uninformed decision.

I'd rather use that space for things I'd rather use -- like a Saladmaster Electric Skillet, a hot pot, and campfire cookware.

I'd consider using our current propane stove only in unusual situations, when we couldn't get electricity -- not as a replacement for the Camp Inn stove.

I'm not overly concerned about paying for both propane and electricity, though it is a fair complaint.

Re: Brand new 560 Ultra for sale

Theresa, you would have to ask Cary if any space would be saved by leaving out the stove. It tucks back into a little cubby under the silverware drawer, and I'm not sure if you could reuse the space without it. However, when not in use, you could place any of your electric skillets or hot pots in the stove area.
