Trippster
Novice
Yo,
Just thought I would take a few minutes to describe our trip to Cages Bend in Gallatin TN this past week. What a wonderful trip of 3 nights and 4 days in our new 550 Ultra called "Trippster". After all our last name is Tripp, so you can only guess where the name came from!
We were only 20 feet or so from Old Hickory Lake! Cages Bend is a Corp of Engineers site, so you just know its gonna be great! The folks were nice too. We did about 5 or 6 CI tours for people on the first night alone. Most had never seen any trailer like it.
Cages Bend is pretty popular. We later heard that most people are locals of only 20 or so miles away. Many come every weekend or so during the Summer. The place is pristine, peaceful and beautiful! In fact we have made a resv to go back in Oct for the Fall Colors.
A couple of observations about our Trippster during our trip.
We Love The Screens!
This was the first time we unfurled the screens. We didn't see many bugs or flies, but it was just nice to have the screens hooked. They are so easy to use. You can even roll up while inside and the door is closed. Who knew!
We tried the AC but found that the side windows combined with the fan gave ample and quieter cooling anyway. I am sure the AC will do well in July though.
The coat hooks are a great place to store keys while inside. We were constantly putting the keys in the wrong place.
Microfiber bath towels are wonderful since the dry in minutes. We stretched a bungee cord between coat hooks with the microfiber towels hung to dry. Pretty cool!
As others have mentioned, we put LED puck lights inside all bins for easy illumination.
We loved the red lighting capability inside the trailer! Very cool and useful.
Found a rubber cover for the ball hitch to keep the grease off my legs. Works like a champ.
The CI sure does get dirty with all the road dirt, bird crap and all! Just got my Woody XXX wax in the mail today. So I guess I am gonna have to buy a buffer and give it a try! Any suggestions beyond what I have seen on this forum?
That's all I got. Check out Cages Bend some time. I I'll post a photo to the gallery shortly!
Thanks all!
