Where is the Amish area mentioned in the 'Things to Do' list?

....ze plane, ze plane!
Unfortunately we had another commitment that kept us away from this years CICO, and witnessing Cary's annual fly-by.

Fortunately I was able to get the GlaStar out, and up to the Bowstring Lake fly-in about 120 miles north of here this morning, for a good pancake, eggs, and sausage breakfast before having to get back for our afternoon commitment.

Ze plane? Some kind of german relaunch of a bad 70's show?

Missed you this weekend!!!! It was FANTASTIC in every way! I'm not sure who paid for the weather -- but having a early autumn weekend with crystal clear blue skies and the fragrance of pine needles...kind of knocked it out of the park. Especially when I opened up the camera app on home, and saw 3 days of non-stop rain.

Callig home, I think, was a small taste of what it is like for my floridian friends calling on New Years day from the beach I suppose....Oh? Its snowing there? 23 degrees? Oh, sorry -- the waves crashing in the background made that hard to hear....

Hi Van :D

Very perceptive! Probably not too many remember that show anymore. It was very forgettable.
Yes, we haven't missed many CICO's since acquiring our Camp-Inn, and missed seeing all of the regular and new faces, but as you know, sometimes life just gets in the way.

We are headed up to the Crosslake Army Corp. of Engineers campground for a few days this week, which may be the end of our camping season for this year. Hopefully the fall colors will be popping a little more during that voyage.

Sadly, we missed CICO -- it would have been our first, as newcomers to teardrop camping. We were not far (in Grand Marais, MN) and had been enjoying the same clear, crisp weather, with the beautiful fall colors and dark night skies. :

It has been quite a contrast to what happened in our home state (NC) and other areas in the Southeast, where there has been so much devastation.

Yah, tell me about it -- I almost didn't make it this year either. The 'new job' is really hurting my camping career. I was just telling my bride "I'm so tired, even if I could get a site -- I'd want to stay home this weekend" --- How sad is that?

There are many gatherings, not just CICO. Make sure you hook up with your state TearJerkers chapter. Here in Indiana, we have at least 4 gathering of teardrops every year, spread throughout the year. You can find your local chapter through Home - TearJerkers.net
