Lots of rain today from whatever this tropical depression/storm/hurricane is called. Caused my cross country meet to be cancelled so it was a lazy day for us. Archie would rather be outside even during the storm. Later found him sitting in a puddle.

Thought we would be camping this week but our daughter just bought her first house. So we are in Mooresville NC helping get moved out of the rental and into the new house. Did get to see a cool car show today. Hope to get to camp the first weekend in November.

Walked the Battlefield tour at the Battle of King’s Mountain (American Revolution) reenactment. My knees that have little cartilage in them are not happy with me at the moment. The Ferguson rifle demonstration was pretty cool.

When I’m asked at school why I’m retiring in May, I’m just going to start showing them this list. Coming up for this is one of the things we look forward to being able to do. I will also look at this list when I wonder if I’m doing the right thing.

It was crazy. One of students was there. It was his first at the Daytona track & he got a lot of photos with drivers. Looking forward to being there in about 18 months for the Daytona 500. We’ve been to the track before and toured the facility plus my daughter and I both did ride along rides...

Gonna be hot this week. Long days for me because I’ll have to wait until the evening to practice my cross country team. On the bright side, next Sunday’s forecast in Darlington, SC for the NASCAR race looks good with highs only in the upper 80s. In the Sandhills of SC, that’s a cool spell.

Same here in Upstate SC, last week was brutal with high temperatures and high humidity. Looks like the upper 80s this week.

171 days left in my teaching career or 113 if you subtract my 58 sick days. Both of us are retiring. 41 years for her & 37 for me. First trip will be the Indy 500.

As far as I know, the only toll road in SC is the Southern Connector which is part of I-185 near Greenville, SC. It has a cash option. I normally avoid it since it’s not much quicker for me. Definitely avoid it with the camper. Used to be a toll road on Hilton Head, but the debt was paid off so...

I-85 from where I am in S.C. near the Ga border all the way to Raleigh is white knuckle driving. Beyond Raleigh it gets desolate for a while. South of me is the 60 miles it takes to across the ATL metro area. God help you if get on I-285 there. I-95 & I-75 are bad too.,

This morning, Mike marker 33, an 18 wheeler with its brakes on fire. I-85 curse strikes again.

I-95 has always been cursed. In one of the videos you can see from you can see from I-85 today, you can see the Frontrow Motorsports hauler for the 34 car going by the burning truck in the median.
