Fridge / Cooler Other Fridge Brands

  1. Good morning!

I'm looking to get a fridge for the 560 Ultra and was curious on the dimensions. I found the size for the Dometic 35 without handles but wasn't sure if there is any more room in there for a different size like a 40.

While looking we kept running across Engel and seems like they run forever from all the reviews, plus I like the metal exterior on them - goes with the Camp Inn look. But not sure if it will fit or not due to the height.

    Thanks for any advice.

The Engels are too long (and too tall). The CFF35 Dometic is probably the largest fridge that will fit. Keep in mind this newer CFF model is a true 35 qt fridge. Previous Dometic models were not and were only about 27 quarts. The Norcolds are 30liter which is pretty close in size to the Dometic 35.

  3. Thanks Cary - that is what I was afraid of. Oh well - worth asking. Thanks for answering.

Fwiw, I have the newer version of the CF35, with the strap handles CI adapts to them. Its a tight but perfect fit, and I'm putting it to the test- trying it stowed in various places, including strapped/braced in cabin powered off the house AGM/solar roof/CTEK via rear cigarette lighter in cabin...
Or off the 120v AC outlet in galley, where it lives in camp on the right hand table. Camping in RV park with 120v power seems almost sinful glamping to this old boy scout, but its so good sleeping with that cool AC, and lets face it; Happy Wife, Happy Life.

I'm running it in freezer mode hard all day and night, keeping meat, ice cream, etc frozen and swapping frozen yeti blocks out to the stainless coleman every day or two, setup up as the fridge for veggies...

This for the last 3 weeks now, high ambient temps all day 80s to high 90s...the key is give the condenser room to breathe...dont stow it running in the galley, hatch closed.

Very impressed: so far so good!
