Where is the access for replacing a tail light bulb on 550 Ultra? How are the lights removed?

  1. Do the lights pop out

You've got to carefully pry out the entire lens, using something like 2 thin flat bladed screwdrivers between the lens and the rubber gasket.
The first time you do it you'll swear it can't be right - but it is...

Okay, I got the tail light out but I'll be darned if I can separate the red plastic lens from the white body?

You need to replace the entire unit. If it's not an LED, I'd be sure to buy one (two actually) that is. Much brighter, and should last longer.

I swapped mine for LED as soon as I bought it. Back-up lights as well...that was a huge difference...actually lit up the area I was backing into!

    Brian,

I have not seen LED versions of the older back up light. Partly why we created a totally different backup light option. If you could, please share info on the LEDs you found that work for upgrading the older round backup lights on a Camp-Inn. I agree, everyone who has that backup light configuration should do that upgrade if they can.

I bought two different versions just in case...it was two years ago so don't recall which worked, but I believe they appeared to be the same thing; Amazon.com: 13 LED 2 1/2" Auxiliary/Utility Light - White LED/Clear Lens: Automotive . The other one I bought was Amazon.com: Partsam (2) Clear/White 2.5" Round Side Marker Light 12LED For Peterbilt Breather Lights: Automotive . They both show currently unavailable but when I search this shows up Amazon.com: Grand General 79319 Sealed Light (2.5" Fleet White/Clear 13 LED Auxiliary/Utility): Automotive Though I see it's out of stock too.
