1. It's called a Maiden Voyage, not a Virgin Voyage (oops!)
2. Take a second table cloth for the extra table (duh!)
3. Don't try to set up a 12x12 Eureka Northern Breeze tent in a 35 mph "breeze"
4. I learned my husband still loves me after almost 43 yrs. of marriage and a 2 hr. try to set up on the tent. He told me this morning I was his favorite person to have a fight with.
5. I learned that I really appreciate the customer service at CI - Marty answered volume questions on the TV - we could barely hear it with the air conditioning on so he told us where 2 additional volume controls were!
6. I learned that my alarm that kept going off is probably defective and I'm getting a new one from CI.
7. I learned that when plugged into shore power that a red light flashes underneath the trailer.
8. I learned that this light can only be seen at night
9. I learned to be wary of said light so we unplugged for the night and are running on battery power in case there is a problem and the alarm is NOT defective.
10. I learned to listen to my sense of smell and wake up to the realization that I am smelling burning rubber or electrical and when we unplugged that smell stopped.
11. I learned that I wish there was an emergency number to call for CI
12. I learned to relax and let go and let God
13. I learned that we are really enjoying outselves and
14. I learned that I'm not panicking about a few little glitches (they're to be expected from an new product.)
On our maiden voyage we have come to Inks Lake State Park at Burnet, Texas. Last time I was here I was 16 yrs. old. To say it's a bit breezy would be an understatment. Normally it is not so - there's a front coming through and it's 80 degrees, hot and windy. It is cool at night so we are sleeping with the doors closed and fan running at night with the windows open. Today we turned the air conditioning on and watched a DVD, learned how to use the TV/DVD player and took a nap in said air contioning! It was awesome!
Many of the older generation are here this week and are also on their maiden voyages, so we are all comparing. We have small (guess who?), medium, large and extra large RV's. Ours is attracting all the attention (of course!)
I have lots of pics but they must be edited and I have to try and figure out how to put them on the photo gallery...I've got Evan's private attention on this matter and I still struggle with it. But there's hope! I DID NOT sleep at a Holiday Inn last night!
