Sanford-Yake Campground is located in the Lake Meredith National Recreation Area about 30 miles north of Amarillo, TX near Fritch, TX. There are 10 sites with water and electricity. To reserve these you call the marina (See the NPS link below for the number). This is a concessionaire run campground, not a NPS one. The non-electric sites are first come-first serve but are free.
Some are paved and some gravel. Our sire was at the top of the hill and close to the bathhouse. Not much shade here, but a good breeze most of the tim Concrete picnic table. Great views of the lake. There are four shower rooms with toilets. I found the one on the side facing the lake closest to the entrance of the campground to have the best ventilation. The others were hot.
Check-in is at the marina. Well stocked store there too.
The entertainment was watching the roadrunners and the other birds trying to chase them off. Great sunsets. Watched a wild lightening show that was far enough away we could not hear the thunder from it.
