Just purchased a 06 550 Ultra.

The battery was dead in the trailer, it had not been used in 4+ years.

I spoke to Cary who told me to buy a new battery. The new battery is about 1/4" taller than the old one. It won't fit underneath the white wood mount for the electrical battery charger. The wood trim is 1"x1" and I'm wondering if I should just take a wood chisel and strip off the bottom? I'd hate to have to remove the entire electrical mount. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
BruceO

I forgot to mention... the replacement battery was one that Cary recommended. He sent me the link for it.

I had similar question when I got a new battery. The wooden block at the top is meant to move . Loosen. the screws on that top piece which is preventing you sliding it in, and and adjust it, you can fit in a taller battery. (Worked for me when I did a new battery)

Mine I think has three screws holding the white wooden mounting block. I loosened all three and the block wouldn’t move. Maybe all three screws have to be removed and new holes drilled? I’m pointing to the three black screws in the picture.

FYI I removed the Black heat sink (I think that’s what it is) in case there was another mounting screw. No screw.

Success - Removed three screws, lifted wooden electrical mount board, slid battery into place, lowered board into place, screwed three wood screws back into board. Done!

The first time I just loosened the screws which were still holding it in place. Second time I completely removed the screws. Once screws were removed the electric wooden panel moved freely.
