This campground is on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 316. It has 70 sites, some are a reservable but they do have walk ups. About 20 are for tents only and most of the rest will work with a teardrop but there are some with short driveways that would not accommodate both tow vehicle and camper. There are two loops. Loop A is closer to the river. On both Loops, the outside provides more shade as the middle is pretty open. No showers but flush toilets in the restrooms. Picnic table, lantern stand and fire ring at each site. Water spaced throughout campground.
A half mile away is one of the BRP Visitors Centers where you can walk down to view the Linville Falls. It is a short walk and worth it. A lot of hiking in the area if you want to hike. The Parkway borders on the Pisgah National Forest. Other attractions in the area are Grandfather Mountain, Linn Cove Viaduct, Linville Caverns, Moses Cone Manor, Prices Fork Lake, too many hiking trails to name.
Nearby in the Linville Falls community one place to eat is Louise's Rock House. Home cooked meals and great pies. Inside the restaurant is where 3 NC counties meet. The cash register is located where it is because that county allows Sunday sales, the two don't. Blowing Rock is a great town to visit with a lot of unique stores and restaurants. Boone is bigger and college town. Go over to Valle Crucis and visit Mast General Store. Christmas tree farms are every where in the area. The area is crawling with artists, Bluegrass, craft beer, wineries and unique Farmers Markets.
