I too have added grease and/or subtracted skin. Couldn't find Rotus8's version (why does he always get the good stuff that later goes out of production?) But this is readily available: : https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Fastway/FA82-00-3127.html and although not quite so plush as his, it's still going to help.
Bright contrasting color also assists when hooking up using the back-up camera under poor lighting conditions.

Hitch Guard, Shin and Knee protector Looks to be slightly better protection and could be spray painted a brighter color if wished.
Ron and Missy's anti-rattle bolt-on version is what I use. It's not too onerous to install or remove when switching out for different drawbars. Or for removing the entire drawbar completely to prevent injury. (Although I do like leaving the drawbar installed most of the time to assist with minor rear-end collision damage protection
