I too have added grease and/or subtracted skin. Couldn't find Rotus8's version (why does he always get the good stuff that later goes out of production?) But this is readily available: : https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Fastway/FA82-00-3127.html and although not quite so plush as his, it's still going to help.

Bright contrasting color also assists when hooking up using the back-up camera under poor lighting conditions.

These are also available too:
Hitch Guard, Shin and Knee protector Looks to be slightly better protection and could be spray painted a brighter color if wished.

Ron and Missy's anti-rattle bolt-on version is what I use. It's not too onerous to install or remove when switching out for different drawbars. Or for removing the entire drawbar completely to prevent injury. (Although I do like leaving the drawbar installed most of the time to assist with minor rear-end collision damage protection ;) ) The bolt-on anti-rattle is also one more step to help prevent "unauthorized removal".

That just might be the best darned $20 you can spend! I've reminded myself that I was alive so many times on mine, I use the memory of the pain to judge if my trailer tongue is lifted high enough before I back up to it :)
 
I concur. Peripheral vision deteriorates as you age. Or there are other obstructions to the view below. ;)

The Gatorguard comes in a glow-in-the dark version. Can't seem to locate either without shipping costing an arm and a bruised leg.

The Aussies have this nice version:

... but's it's only available south of the equator and west of the International Date Line.
 
I've got a 3d printer --- why do I need to buy one :) LOL!!!! There's a project for me. I've really gotten to enjoy the process of designing parts. I'm still not very good at it, it takes me a while to do --- but ever one gets a little faster.

They make flow in the dark filament too :)
 
Cool. 2 -in-1 device.

My old-school bolt-on C-clamp device certainly does the job. Very solid and quiet.

But putting it on and taking it off, when I have 3 different trailers, drawbars and ball sizes, is a PITA. (Was that a 1/2" or a 7/16ths?). And then there's the drawbar pin key to find. (Which one was that? The Curt?)

Good luck. My experience with kickstarters has been pretty low. The most disappointing was a coffee cup that had an integrated frech press....it was COOL. Blew way through its targets (like by a factor of 10) and never made it to market until there was a Chinese, plastic version appeared, and its reviews were terrible.

Rattles bother you? I'd think with the green truck in your photo you'd find the rattle comforting as I do in my jeep :D --- a subtle reminder the trailer is still there.

The Kickstarter price isn't bad—I'm not sure I'd pay that much retail. More than double? It's a little expensive later, maybe your impulse will pay off!


I like the feature set. Especially the clean tool-free aspect, and not losing a hitch pin.

I also have had zero luck with Kickstarters. But some innovative ideas for sure. This one looks great. I wish there were options for placement in various extension points, etc. as opposed to just at the ball drop. Maybe if this flies it will be a future product...
 
I need a zero drop/rise to tow with my Transit so it wouldn’t work for me. Plus if I drive with the shank installed year round it gets mudded in and doesn’t rattle.

I need to try a zero rise/drop tow bar for a slightly better level fit on my Alltrack to CI when heavy loaded but havent found one in stores, Uhaul, etc.

Where did you get yours, Tour?
"Mudded" yep, gets crusty over time even in the dry.
Reminds me to pull the tow bar...

I can’t remember where but it could have been Fleet Farm. They are hard to find.
