Anyone know of a good place to overnight in that area? I'm trying to plot out a trip that will go thru there and want that to be our destination for the night - just a quiet place to stop early and rest up - No Walmarts or Cracker Barrels - RV parks preferably. Close to I35 N...
 
Don't know about any RV parks in Des Moines, as we do state & county parks.

Walnut Woods State Park is right off I-35 & is really nice.

We will be camping in Winterset, southwest of Des Moines, at Pammel State Park in August, but it is a bit out of the way. It is where the Bridges of Madison County was filmed.

There is no love lost between Des Moines & myself...between leaving a purse in a restaurant, losing a transmission, & losing the diamond from my engagement ring (and this all in one trip), I hold my breath every time we travel through there. :D

On the bright side, it could have been worse & everything turned out okay in the end. :)
