    Solar panel for my Toaster...

Ken, do you have your panal mounted to the top of your CI, or do you have it on a portable stand with an attaching cable? I know the mounting on top of the CI is convenient, allowing for charging while on the move and that its always hooked up, but a panal on a stand which you could move around...

Get an old tennis ball, split it on one side just enough to slide over the ball. Keeps the ball grim free for the most part. Tim

Replacement battery - where to buy?

Honestly, unless you plan to leave your unit in storage for a prolonged period of time, say 5 months or more, don't worry about it too much. Granted you want to charge the battery once you pull it from storage. If you plan to use your camper every few months, just get it home a day before you go...

Replacement battery - where to buy?

I put a trickle charger on the motorcycle battery when it's stored for the winter. No need to unplug it while the unit is in storage. This keeps the battery in top condition. Just hookup the trickle charger, plug it in and let it do it's thing. Trickle chargers can be found in auto and...

    Breakfast Mess

I've only done this at home, with a standard stovetop DO, but I guess a 4 or 5 quart ci DO is good. Stuff to start with: 4 or 5 potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch squares (or you can cheat and get a package of frozen southern hash browns, but make sure to get the kind cut into small...

    Grill Set

Thanks for getting back to me George. We ordered our set a few days ago, should be here soon. Rusty cast iron? Most of my fry pans and dutch oven came from the flea market or auction, usually in poor shape. A wire brush attachment on my drill gets rid of rust (Wear a dust mask though)...

    Ideal Tow Vehicle

I'm not really worried about the 2400# rating of the Forester. Several members have Foresters and seem to do just fine with them, posting that the only problems they have is in the mountains at times, simular to what Hilditch posted. What I am more concerned with is overall trailer weight, which...

    Ideal Tow Vehicle

We haven't purchased a TD yet and we're interested in getting a 560. As such, we also do not have a suitable tow vehicle. We're considering the following, each having both pros and cons: 1. Subaru Forester - Pros: good gas mileage, All Wheel Drive, boxer engine has a good reputation. Looks...
