Receiver Hitch For 2016 Subaru Outback

It's been a number of years since I looked at the Outback specs, but I believe the Outback is rated to something like 2700 pounds towing with the 4 cylinder engine. Consult your owners manual for the actual numbers. As far a the 1 1/4 inch receiver size, Subaru would have kept tow ratings in...

Air Conditioner New Diffuser for AC unit

We live in Southeast Virginia. It's been a record year for heat here and we camp year round but so far via tent. We're finally picking our 560 up from my sisters place by Redgranite, WI in a couple of weeks after purchasing last October. Even with the diffuser installed, I assume the best...

Receiver Hitch Optional Reciever For The Camp Inn

Thanks for the reply Cary. After doing some internet searching, I found one review which stated that the weight limit for the Fish-n-mate caddie was 200 pounds although I'm not so sure I want to trust just that as a documental source. Maybe now I can take along my DIY Smokey Joe smoker. JP

Receiver Hitch Optional Reciever For The Camp Inn

Hey folks, just a question about the optional receiver for the Camp Inn. While stated that it is intended for bike racks, has anyone ever used the receiver for any purpose? I ask this question as I have an aluminum fishing cart (sold at various stores like Bass Pro and Cabelas besides on line)...

    Test Run

Hi folks, just thought I'd throw in my two cents. Jenny and I looked at many campers before deciding to purchase our used 560. We have always tent camped, but with us getting alittle on with our years, a teardrop for us was the way to go. As mentioned in the earlier posts, features determine...

Saw your post on the screen insert for the Northern Breeze shelter. The post mentioned that you (Carol) may have the dimensions for the insert. What would it take to get those please. My wife seems to attract mosquitoes, so this screen insert would be wonderful. Thanks, JP

    Northern Breeze Modification

Some time back I saw where someone had the pattern to modify one side if a Northern Breeze shelter to form fit around a tear drop to help keep bugs (mosquitoes) out but after looking around in the forums, I cannot find the thread. Anyone know where I can find this? Thanks, JP

Thanks everyone for the great welcome. While we have paid for the 560, it is still in Wisconsin being stored by my sister until we can pick it up in spring. Tim and Jenny

    Easy Fire Starting

Actually, we use torch oil. Pour 3 or so cups worth on , let it soak for a minute or two, then light the fire. Gets hot real quick.

    EXPIRED Side Tent

Jay n Valerie, very cool tent mod you guys have there. How well does the tent hold out rain water, specifically over the door with the extension between the tent and the trailer?

    Storage Inlaid Kitchen Cabinets

So I'm looking over the price list and options for an Ultra 560, and I come across a new addition to the list - Inlaid Kitchen Cabinets. Anybody seen this yet? Also new is a leather sofa option.

What made you choose a campinn?

Jenny and I love to camp and have been tent camping for years. Every year we go to Wisconsin to visit family and we end up at Petenwell campground, My sister, brother-in-law and mom in their nice trailer camper (they currently have a 26 ft towable), while Jenny and I are again in the tent. After...

How Large a vehicle do I really need

Thanks everyone for posting on this thread. After reading everything and looking at vehicles, I believe we are down to choosing between my original picks, which is an Outback and the Ford Edge. Both have ample room, AWD and good ground clearance, although the Outback has a little more ground...

How Large a vehicle do I really need

I think from my first post what I was trying to say was that I really didn't want a minivan even though it seems to present the best option in combined towing capacity and carrying space even though the mpg might be a little on the low side. I've read where folks are happy with the Subaru...

How Large a vehicle do I really need

Thanks for the input. One thing about the tow vehicle we are looking for is that it also gets good gas mileage. In my mind, that pretty much includes any vehicle that normally gets at least 27 MPG on the freeway, although I can be flexible. Again thanks to all that responded. Tim

How Large a vehicle do I really need

Well Jenny and I are finally set on getting a 560, but now have to decide on a tow vehicle. My thoughts on towing weight is that the vehicle must have a rating of 2000 lbs. I have read that many of you have vehicles that are rated at 1500 lbs towing and don't have any problems, 2000 lbs rating...
