We're going to head up to the Apostle Islands for a few days since the forecast is calling for highs in the mid 70's and lows in the upper 50's with no rain. We haven't been since about 2005? or so (pre CampInn days anyways), so it's time. We'll be taking the 'yaks and hope that Gitche Gumee...

Heh, no mountains out the window this morning...

When we landed in Chicago this evening our house temp read 88° with 56% humidity. I turned the A/C on and by the time we got home about an hour later it had cooled to only 86. But felt okay as it wasn't humid. By morning we'll be nice and cool, ready for the hot stuff tomorrow

We hoped to get a bit farther north along Trans Canadian 1, but vacationing with grandkids means we adapt, so that will have to wait. We're already talking about getting back to see Jasper when that can be done. This has been a great time that we'll all hopefully remember as a trip we'd repeat ;)

Thanks - the thing about this area to me is that no matter which direction you turn you're faced with these incredible views, you're right in the middle of it all!

No unfortunately. The fires shut down the park and burned about 30% of the town from what I heard. Hopefully they can recover from this devastating event quickly. We'll have to wait for another time. Tomorrow is Lake Louise and Morraine Lake, which everyone is excited to see:)

This seems to be one of those places where you could spend a couple months exploring to feel like you've begun to get a handle on the area.

We're spending 5 days in Banff National Park with our daughter, sil, and 2 grandkids. Flew into Calgary and are staying in a cabin near some great hiking. Peg & I have talked about this for years, and it took 10 yr old Max to suggest it and here we are. Absolutely gorgeous! Downtown Banff...
