    Rest area grades

I'd like to claim it but I saw it on a big dually pick up truck a while back. Reminded me of my mother. When I was a baby we lived in the country by a pond that had a log in it that the water moccasins would crawl up on to sun themselves. Mom had 3 boys running around playing. So Dad bought...

    Fires in Texas

Absolutely! I've always considered it our "Bug Out Bag". That and the mini van with stow and go seats, we have lots of room to throw stuff in - IF we have the time. But I'm not worried, just cautious.

    Fires in Texas

Thanks for your concerns Sue/Jim! I appreciate it. Packing up would include grabbing Bill, the dog, the cat and my purse - the rest can be replaced! No fires close to us and we are very watchful. Thanks again!

    Rest area grades

jsl: The magic word here is CALIFORNIA! Most WalMarts are very clean and nice but like everything there are some that are not. And that wasn't Bill that said that about the gun - all posts are by me, Linda! "Texas Women Shoot Their Own Snakes!" Oh, and I've seen Million Dollar rigs in...

    Rest area grades

There's a book that tells you which WalMarts allow RV's (most do) only a few don't - the one on Central Avenue in Hot Springs DOES NOT. It's the manager's call. What we've done: I google the WalMart in the town I'm going to by voice on my Iphone, get the number, dial it, ask if they allow...

    Chili Mac

Sounds good! I'm all about comfort food - but in Texas we use Wolf Brand Chili! NO beans of course!

    Rest area grades

Our WalMart stays have been few, but the only problem I ever had was a tornado came close, I could hear it and we skeeedaddled! I agree about certain areas - the newer well lit W.M.'s are usually good. I'm all for well lit. But another problem arises - everyone wants to see the C.I. and I...

    Rest area grades

Arkansas and Texas seem to have good clean rest areas. Texas even has rest area's where RV's can park overnight. Personally for some reason I'm afraid to stay overnight in a rest area - too much crime. BUT, that being said I'd like to hear some input from others - Bear especially...

YEAH! CONGRATULATIONS! I know you're excited! What part of Texas are ya coming to? Watch out for fire.... Actually we have a new law in Texas now - anyone coming to Texas from the north must drag the rain back! IMMEDIATELY! (Whine...)

    Fires in Texas

Fires in San Antonio to the south of us, Bastrop to the East of us, in north Texas and N.M. to the north and west of us. Best place to go camping is right here in our campground. All campers are gone now that Labor Day is over, the C.G. is empty and no one to start a fire...just a few work...

    satellite dish mount

We have and live in our fifth wheel RV and travel with the 560. Currently we are stationary and use the campground cable but prior to that we had Dish network and we still have the dish on a tripod that we would take and would set up when we moved around. I'd recommend the same for your...

    Itinerary 8th Annual Camp-inn Camp-outt

It pains me to say that due to circumstances beyond our control we will be unable to make the Camp Outt this year-:(. We made it to Arkansas via Palo Duro Canyon and Tulsa. Our home there developed some problems that we had to address and are still addressing. We had to return home via Katy...
