OK - I know its part of Cary's training that everyone gets when you buy the TD - but some folks on the forum are buying used campers and might not get all the same information.
I was reminded about why locking the galley is important just this month when driving through Idaho. We had...
Dustin - you are right, I really meant the outlets that are at the bottom of the cabinets - not actually at the foot of the bed. We had used that for watching movies on the iPad - but for easy access to pillow side charging and alarms - I added these USB ports.
Best to all -

We (RMBL-INN) were heading home to Seattle after a 30 day trip to the midwest parks and saw "Escape Pod" heading east on I-84 near the Idaho/Oregon Boarder. Not sure who that is - will do some looking in the forum on that. We had been planing on going to CICO but the call of the grand daughter...
Hi Jim,
Yes - I have a 12 outlet and a 120v duplex, but it is at the foot of the bed - this are right next to our heads and the small storage bins I have mounted on the wall under the factory shelf... which is where I would put my phone at night for charging and alarms.
Hi Lynne,
I have a 550 and use Eagle Creek Pack it Folders - one for shirts and one for pants, I also use a cube for socks and underwear. Those three pack hold a couple of weeks worth of close and are easy to pull out of the shelves and pick which item you will use for the day - Coats and cold...
Linda and I always charge our phones on our night stand and use the phones for our morning alarms... so I have been trying to decide how to do that without running a cord all the way to the foot of the bed where the 12 volt outlet is.
We rarely plug into to 110volt - so I wanted it to work off...
Thanks for the suggestion - As always - we should be spending twice the time in these spots - - Google maps has us on 41 and 28 across the northern part until we get to 77 - so will have to save this for next time.
Thanks Pat - we are planning on spending two days on the peninsula and taking the ferry from Copper Harbor to Isle Royal for a few days too. Really looking forward to this. Then we head over to Michigan and go south to Sleeping Bear Dunes.
As I just wrote in our first Long Haul post - our trip to visit our first grandchild took us over the 25,000 total as well. Starting on my birthday in 2012 our first stop was a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Iowa as we headed home to Seattle.
We had;
5 outings, 3000 miles and 16 nights in 2012...
Our first Long Haul (and that took us over 25,000 total) came in April this year. Leaving Seattle, we headed out to Denver to see our very first grandchild, our oldest son and his wife had just delivered a baby girl. Linda could hardly stand the wait to see her. We made the trip in 3 days...
Love Capital Reef too. Unfortunately when we were there in May 2017 the campground was full - so we found this dry camp spot on BLM land (Bullfrog Basin Road) just outside the park (got the green light from the ranger at the NP that it is OK to camp on BLM land that shows sighs of previous...
BTW - if you are using a Cooler Cozy from CI - you might consider placing a small string between the two zippers... it makes it easier to unzip/zip the Cozy especially when in the tight quarters in the TD slot. String needs to be slightly longer than the cooler is wide - mine is about 30 in long.
Jenn,
Great idea with the dry bag!!... I have used plastic containers when I make my own blocks of ice - and then put new blocks or cubes in them when on the road - always leaving the cold water with the ice. Metal Coleman with Cooler Cozy gets me 4+ days as you say.... but the plastic...
I have the manual brake option and use it all the time. It is especially useful when you are moving the trailer around after unhitching. We regularly move the trailer to deal with wind direction (stove doesn't like it when the wind is into the kitchen). Also - sometimes when in an unlevel...
