Now that I finished installing a Ctek DC-DC charger into my trailer last night, I see a notice from Renogy about their new charger. If you already have solar with a charge controller, this looks like it will do the same job as the Ctek for less than half the money. Functions as a battery isolator as well and will work with lithium batteries too.

That looks very cool indeed! So glad to see other manufacturers offering alternative DC/DC chargers. Also, that it is versatile across battery types.

I'm not sure I'll ever invest in solar, so this alternator-only charger could be a good deal.

I'm seriously considering that 40A Rover. Anyone have experience installing a non-check solar charger?

Can I just connect it to the 50A Breaker (and add a 40A fuse) on the positive side?

I installed the Renogy 30A Rover with the BT module. It had to go in the Galley / sideways.
I would have preferred another location/orientation, but it's protected and functional.

I used power pole connectors to match the GZ Yeti, so as long as the galley is open/unlocked, I can run the panels directly here. No need to penetrate the aluminum, since my panels are not secured on the CI.

I can get 9A out of each panel flat in full sun. Essentially recharging a day's use of my battery in about an hour ;)

Dude, nice job! Looks like that 30A Renogy controller can take in and charge up your neighbors batteries as well!! I got the 20A along w/the Bluetooth accessory so I can monitor from my phone. I’ll send pics when I get it installed.
