    Lithium Battery BMS Behavior

I think there are far fewer auto electric shops than we once had. I feel lucky that the major u-haul is not so far from my house, and their trailer/hitch/electrics shop is not bad, because our local auto electric shop went out of business maybe 10 years ago. If you are anywhere near fishing or...

    LEDs for Interior/Galley Lights?

I’m still running on these LED bulbs I purchased in 2018. Although neither is still available the amazon links do work, you can find the specs there: https://campinnforum.com/community/threads/cpap-power-for-boondocking.4414/page-3#post-44298

    Lots of opinions on Canopies

Our current bits and bobs: ARB 8’ awning on passenger side. Straightforward to pitch and take down, sizeable, always ready! 8’ (regular size) Sportbrella. Protects the galley (only!) nicely, super quick, rides crossways in the galley. Kelty Backroads over the galley. The new kid, great coverage...

    Lots of opinions on Canopies

Canopies! The Playing With Sticks YouTube channel visited a teardrop campout and spoke with multiple owners about their many choices of canopies, well done! Also linked there is PWS’s own discussion of a good looking Joolca side tent, quite large:

    2026 Camping Gear

That’s pretty awesome! It reminds me of “camp kitchen boxes” folks use for scout and hunt camps, but on a smaller scale that doesn’t get so dang heavy. IIRC many camp boxes were made of 5/8 or even 3/4” ply, and held a lot of stuff. You wouldn’t want to move them by yourself. Edit: Aka “Chuck...

    Tesla

If I had a PHEV and didn’t expect to use up the gas in 6mos I’d treat it the same as my extensive lawn/yard equipment collection: Pay the price for ethanol-free “clear” gas, and add Sta-Bil to the tank. In my experience it’s good for 12+ months… I too think a plug-in hybrid currently is the...

    Lithium Battery BMS Behavior

I’d be happy to, the next time my phone, battery and charger are in the same place I’ll fire it up and check. We had a short power outage a few days ago, and I pulled the battery into the house, but not the charger. However, my battery is probably two generations back and half the size of a...

    Lithium Battery BMS Behavior

Following with interest! Regarding #2 above, a few years ago I bought a 50ah Li Time (pre BMS) to serve as my “pony” CPAP battery. It’s gotten me through many nights of off grid camping and a few power outages at home - absolutely great results. My 10a Victron charger’s lithium profile did...

    Questions & thoughts on power

Boondocking away from others! Most or all the campgrounds I’ve visited require gennies off at 8 or 10.

New Manager of the Awards Badges

Paging @Sweeney , paging @Cary Winch , Some time ago there was a page, or maybe a media album, that had graphic badges one could link to for embedding… like in my signature. Or, I suppose you could copy/paste a graphic from somebody’s sig… or download it…

    Questions & thoughts on power

Old and feeble I am, a couple 30Lb cylinders I would mount in the bed and still be able to horse them around. Perhaps you could handle a lot more!

    Questions & thoughts on power

If your TV is a pickup you’d have capability for way more than a 20Lb tank. If it’s not, take a close look at tongue weight vs. your TV when adding stuff to the tongue.

    Questions & thoughts on power

Off grid AC is really a problem! If I ever have to reach for AC in the boonies getting a propane conversion for a quiet Honda or other gennie might make it work. I don’t like carrying gasoline… or dealing with it at a campsite! Even with that I don’t know how many hours you’d get out of a 20Lb...
