You didn't say if you have a lithium battery. If so, some versions of lithium battery have an internal "shut off" mechanism that powers down the battery to prevent parasitic drain. There is a reset procedure to turn it on, perhaps what you did woke it up.

I had water come in around the marker lights above the doors. Some RTV under the light where the wires go into the body, plus around the edges of the light solved it.
