Wisconsin weekend

The weather forecast was good for most of the Midwest, including one of our favorite states, Wisconsin! So, we headed out Friday afternoon, only to find the state parks already filled. We called a private campground where we had stayed in March (before the state parks facilities opened), Sky High Campground, and reserved a spot in a section laid out much like a state park, with plenty of trees and space between sites.
We were hoping to paddle part of the Baraboo River, but the only local outfitter has gone out of business. So we headed over to Mirror Lake State Park, a little gem of a spot to paddle. It was a beautiful day, a mix of sun and overcast, with little to no wind.
There's a great restaurant right on the lake, the Ishnala Supper Club, that you should not miss if you find yourself in the area.
A very relaxing weekend...

Nice pictures. I will have to put it on my list for when I can return to Wisconsin with the leisure time to explore it fully in my trailer.

I think it's the first picture of Ken we've ever seen. Hmm... Putting his best foot forward...?

I was at Mirror Lake as a child and remember dining at Ishnala Supper Club with my family. I had forgotten how beautiful it was there. Thanks for posting the pictures. We'll need to make that one of our destinations in the near future. - Julie

Beautiful, Ken! Reminds me a bit of our Pictured Rock National Lakeshore here in Michigan. Your photos have inspired me to add Wisconsin to my places to explore when I eventually get my own Tear.
