Went to RV Show in Austin

I went to an RV show here in Austin today just for kicks, they only had 3 teardrops at the entire show, 2 T@B and 1 T@G. Those just are not great quality. The only advantage I could see in buying one is that you would get it now instead of waiting. But I could see on hot summer days how the the thing would slowly fall apart, and the smells from the construction materials throughout the cabin, etc. Just did not feel like it was worth the money.

While the big 5th wheels and such are nice, I don't think people are really considering total cost of ownership on those things. Storage costs, operating costs, etc. all on top of a large price tag. I am sure people will say that you can get more for your money than a teardrop but when you factor in all the other costs, that big trailer is a LOT more expensive than a nice CI 560 Ultra.

I suppose if I were retired and spending a couple of years crossing the country and living in it, I might want more of full time home feel and functionality but the more I look at them, the more appealing the CI 560 is to me.

I wish I could have taken a couple of the CI teardrops to the show. I think it would have made quite a splash.

 

Agree totally. Today I went to the very small RV show in Rochester. Falsely hoping to see a T@G. Asked the two dealers displaying why they didn't bring a teardrop...... they don't have any instock.

What I noticed about the interiors is the return of dark woodwork.
Every day I smile while looking at Uff Da Inn tucked in the garage next to the car.

Come on Spring!
