    Trip for 4 main "happenings"
River Rafting - Boat Tour to Upper Lake - Land Tour of the park - Kettle Valley Train ride, holdup and BBQ.
Fun trip overall, but BKTs were in full force. Fed all the Mosquitoes as I would have thought all the Scream Kids would have scared them away... Not !!! Didn't do the Ghost Towns of NE Washington, next time. Rain, heat and cool.. the full gambit..

Yah, it was a good trip...
Biggest surprise was the number of wineries that are in the Omak north region, Okanagan... and the number and size of the lakes up there....
Good trip, biggest disappointment was the Train.. it just went about what seemed like 4 miles very slowly to the trestle and then back, past the station for the hold up about .5 mile and then back for the BBQ.. I was expecting a longer ride and in more "Old Western" style of coaches... oh well, will try another one like Mt Rainier or Helen, there's one down there too...
    till the next one...

Is the one at Rainier fairly close to Mossyrock? I was thinking of heading to the National Park there (NP #5 for the year!) this weekend. We'll have to see what time allows and how tomorrow shakes out.

I am not sue about trains, there appears to be one at Elbe/Mineral; however, I have never taken it. Mount Rainer NP is fairly close to Mossyrock, so is Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens (the east side of it). We went to Paradise with Jennifer last year, no chance of a hike then but there should be great hiking up there this time around. The Adams area is interesting since it is more of a wilderness area, but it is difficult to get close to the mountain.

Elbe is about a half hour drive from Mossyrock, I have not taken the train ride there yet but want to one day, they have a good burger stand across the street.

That looks amazing! Maybe next time if NWRU is still up there we will check it out. We have done the Mt Hood Railroad and were trying to hit it during the blossom festival (for all of the apple and pears). Things were off about 2 weeks (it was 2 years ago when we didn't get a summer) and we didnt get see the blossoms but it was a nice day on the train. You will have a great time.

Is the price so much higher because you get to ride in the engine?
