Hi there, will be traveling the Gulf Coast between Apalachicola and Tampa mid March. Any camping spots
you would recommend would be appreciated. Thanks, Sky Bear.

    Sky Bear,
I wish I could be more helpful. Spring Break is in March and hotels as well as the height of snowbird season camping doesn't leave much. This time of year most state parks are booked and I don't know of many private or county campgrounds that aren't full, as well. Florida State Parks take reservations up to ELEVEN months in advance and I'm seeing them filling up for December 2017 already. Parks do save a few sites for those without reservations but that number varies. Try calling some of the parks on rivers and springs to see if there are sites available, as well as those close to beaches. Manatee Springs near Crystal River is one I've recently been to. Hillsborough River State Park just east of Tampa is another. Myakka River is a bit south of Tampa but may be more of a possibility.

If you find are able to get some sites near as far south as Tampa, let me know and perhaps we could meet up. I'm in Pinellas County, just west of Tampa and on the Gulf of Mexico.

    Fingers Crossed,
    Leah

Thanks, Leah. We secured spots at St. Andrews, Ochlockonee & Manatee Springs SP's. We essentially
found last sites so got lucky I suppose. Our goal is to watch our son play lacrosse in the area but it looks
like the games may be in Orlando instead of Tampa so not sure of our plans there. If Tampa is in the
    works will let you know.
