Wall-e Completes 2nd Long Haul, Jasper/banff/glacier Np

A bit delayed in getting this done, WALL-E completed a 2nd Long Haul this Fall (2019). What I've been referring to as the National Park Trifecta, Jasper, Banff and Glacier National Parks Aug. 29 thru Sept. 22nd, 2019.

Drove 5,456 miles, through or across 5 States (Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Nebraska) and 4 Canadian Provinces, (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and briefly into British Columbia).

Our first camping night was in Rugby, ND (also the geographical center of north America) at the Pierce County Campgrounds. This campground is a gem, located at the Pierce County Fairgrounds, very well kept, electric Hookup, clean well maintained bath and showers. All grass sites well mowed and kept. On aholiday weekend we were only ones there. Best of all it was free! Love these surprises! Its also located 40 minutes from the International Peace Garden on the border of the US/Canadian Boarder. There is also a very nice campground (very nice, but not free) at the Peace Garden. Gardens were incredible, we will revisit in future.

I could go through and give a day by day log of what we did but this would be repetitive as it all can be found on our blog, The Adventures of WALL-E. (Adventures of WALL-E: 2019 Jasper, Banff and Glacier National Parks.).

We stayed in Jasper six nights, Banff six nights, Glacier four nights and Sage Creek/Badlands NP for three nights and a few one nighters in between. Our favorite site was without a doubt, Wapiti Campground in Jasper, and least was Tunnel MTN II in Banff. Glacier and Sage Creek were both off the grid camping.

Highlights of our trip were our hikes in the Parks, especially our 12 mile hike on the Athabasca Glacier between Jasper and Banff, complete with an avalanche was we hiked to the Ice Falls the Glacier. Three day Horseback Riding (Back country) trip spending three night at their back country lodge. The Gondola ride in Banff is also an honorable mention. The Ice Field Parkway drive is also an incredible drive.

A more detailed day by day description can be found on our blog (still a work in progress). I try to include where we camped (including campsite) what we did and generally our adventures. Enjoy. Ron and Missy
