Just did a third annual trip to Steamboat Rock and exploring Dry Falls Lake.
The whole area is unique as the great Ice Dams broke in Missoula, MT and washed right on through Washington forming the Coulees.
Anyway, great campsite nice to get into sunny warm weather for a change and early enough in the season to avoid the "BKT"s of camping..

[IMG] This was at Vantage, Wanapum (Gingko) St Prk Columbia River. Windy and just a nice stop over to Steamboat Rock.

and of course "Happy Hour" with the Drink-A-Nator.. heheh, works like a charm...

We used to do climbing trips to Vantage. I haven't been out there in probably 8 years. It is amazing landscape, the rock is a bit sketchy for climbing (you really couldn't trust your anchors and had to double check holds because they would break off), but it was really nice and warm. It is nice getting out of the valley and out to drier climates for sure...it has been awfully wet, especially these last 2 years. Looks like you had a great time!

You bringing that drink-a-nator to the NW Round-up? More folks may sign up if that is the case! :)

    Thanks for sharing!

Sarah - yes, I have friend who used to rock climb and he was saying the same thing... nice, but...

DAN (Drink-A-Nator) needs power, not sure the campsite has it.. and it would have to be a BYOB, but fun to do...

Steve - Temporary Friends as you can imagine.. but a fun time was had by all.. It's a little bit of "Overkill" for small groups, but just fun to watch...
    thanks...
