Very neat addition!

Evan, feel free to add the picture here.....At the Camp-Inn web page (travel picture A 11) is something that interests me and one of us knows how to make it happen. That added horizontal trim would look very cool on a 560. I think it would enhance the look of the flat roof line and tie the front and rear of the trailer together. Anyone know what material, the source and demisions used?

Here is the picture (I hope it's OK to put it here.) It is pretty cool.

    Kent,

The customer who owns that CI put those on himself. They are made of a dress-up automotive plastic/chrome trim. They are attached with a doubled-sided tape. They come in a "strip" with both ends tapered. He cut the strip in half to make 2 separate pieces. He then had to cut it to match the curve of the door. A coping saw would do the trick.

A couple things to consider...any water draining off the ends will leave a streak down the side of the tear. It will be more difficult to clean around & in between the strips, especially if you use a buffer. Also, because of the double stick tape, when you are installing them, you only have one shot at getting them right.

The recommended way to install them is to tape them into place with a good quality masking tape. When you are satisfied with the placement, use the tape to make a hinge above the strip. Practice flipping it up like you are removing the backing and flipping it down into place. When you are sure you can do it right, remove the backing and flip down into place.

It does look neat, but I think I'd be afraid of the issues Betsey mentioned regarding keeping it clean.

Betsey, thanks for the reality check. Great suggestions on how purchase and install if I just lose all good reason. How could I forget about the polish job after what it took to clean up from my Alaska trip. Thinking things through, that's my challenge, so it's a good thing to have you and others around...

Nothing wrong with adding the strips - they do look cool - but it is nice to know what to expect before you make the decision to do so.
