Last summer after hooking up with Jorge and his family, we headed across White Pass on HWY 12 into Eastern WA.
The Palisades on the west side of the pass.
Clear Creek Fall on the east side of the pass.
We stopped for a few days at Windy Point - a tiny and primitive campground right off of HWY 12 on the Teiton River.
I don't mind primitive because you can get a campground with a view like this ALL to yourself:
The water was warm enough to do some floating. The only problem with free floating is that little people do it much faster than big people.
I had to swim hard to keep up with Katie.
We found an old ski rope that had been tied to a tree on the far side of the river - perfect for making a rope bridge.
After a couple of days spent kayaking and hiding from bugs in the screen tent, we drove over to Spokane (just missing Mewton) and stayed with our family at the KM resort - Ponderosa Pines.
Certainly on the opposite end of the primitive spectrum:
We drove back across Washington in a caravan with my parents.
Twice as much rubbernecking when you have two...
