Trip to Alabama, Florida

KathyBob

Junior Ranger
From March 21 to April 29, 2014 Cutie Pie traveled 7700 miles from Federal Way, WA and back. The purpose of the trip was three-fold: celebrate Kathy's Mom's 89th birthday, visit the Everglades NP, and fill in the remaining mainland US states on our travel map. 30 nights were spent in the teardrop. We spent 10 nights in a Corps of Engineer campground alongside Holt Lake, northeast of Tuscaloosa, AL. Typically on trips to Tuscaloosa we stay at the folks' but because of limited guest beds there, we took Cutie Pie to the campground where she weathered several nights of impressive storms. The trip was excellent and we traveled in some out-of-the way places. The mosquitoes in the Everglades were abundant and we almost left after the first night, but a breeze the next evening made things more tolerable.
