Trip #2

We did our second 2 night trip in our 560 Ultra to get ready for our trip West coming up in a few weeks. Having a little fun and getting used to being out of a tent. Amazing how much less time I spent both before and after the trip packing, cleaning, etc. compared to tent camping. The second night we got the ventilation better so we had a better night's sleep. Hated to use the AC since the overnight temperature was only 50. In SC, we won't have those temps at night again until the end of September. On our trip out West, we should have some cool nights though.

We were at Chau Ram Park so I could get to the cycling event I was riding in Saturday. I reviwed the campground in that part of the forum. We head out June 9 to visit Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier and Spokane to meet up with some family. We have to finish the school year first but are looking forward to it.

It will not be unusual to encounter snow flurries in the northern Rockies in early June. However, a very pretty time of year with the peaks still showing lots of snow cover and wild flowers in bloom at lower elevations. The water falls will be most spectacular in June with the rivers and creeks running high as the snow melts.

Remember to check for ticks when camping among the pine trees before climbing into bed. They like to get into the hair on your head or the fur on your pets ... Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (aka Lyme Disease).
