My husband and I recently purchased "The Spot." It has a battery inside it, but it tracks by satellite. You pay an annual fee for the satellite. It is smaller than a package of cigarettes and mounts with screws or adhesives. We have not mounted it as of yet, but I moved it to the other side of the table and it sent an e-mail to my phone alerting me that it had moved along with the location of it. It cost $100.O0 with a $50 rebate. Activation of the satellite for a year is $100. I had read in the local paper where a woman recovered her scooter because she had a tracker on it.

We ran into a couple from Virginia when staying at a city park in Ontario. They showed us their "Spot." They were probably in their '70s and their children insisted that they had it. Apparently, there are different levels of alerts you can set up, including to a 911 that will call in local law enforcement.

There are different types. We looked at one for rescue. The type we
Purchased was for tracking boats, cars, trailers, etc.

This is really cool. But your betting a theif does not recognize what it is. Be Better if it did not have a logo.

The logo is not printed on it. It is small enough to hide just about anywhere in OR on the trailer.

I watched the little movie about this and it said place it so the logo is facing skyward. Don't place it beneath any metal obstruction. where on earth on a metal trailer can you not put it beneath metal?

We have taken our tear drop out several times since we purchased it in Dec 2014, I threw the tracker in the cabinet in the cabin and it still notifies me when we move the trailer. It works for us.

That is good news. Are you going to try putting it in a more hidden place under the trailer or somewhere less likely to be discovered right away?

    We just put it anywhere.
