The Redwoods

I just booked a trip to the Redwoods for June 5-11. I'll be staying at Kamp Klamath in Klamath, CA.

I thought I would mention it in case anybody might be interested in going around that time. Although I haven't camped there before, I've made two trips about the same time of year, including last year. If you've never seen these trees it is well worth a visit. They are absolutely stunning. This time of year is also when the Rhododendrons bloom, making for some additional amazing beauty to see.

I only know of Kamp Klamath based on internet research as well as one phone call to the manager. It's walking distance to the Klamath River just before it meets the Pacific Ocean. It looks and sounds like a very nice campground.

Weather can be wet or dry that time of year along with fog. Also most camp sites anywhere in the area are generally well shaded. So I booked a tent site with water and electric. No need to worry about running down the battery.

Anybody looking for an adventure, check it out. It would be great to see multiple CI's!

Awesome....my bucket lists include spending time out west. I've never been allowed to spend much time west of Mississippi river....

Hey! We tent camped close to there in 2015, years before we had a CI. We were in the Elk Prairie campground in the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Hope you have a great trip. You’re not wrong about those trees, it’s a special place.

The photo of the elk was taken in Prairie Creek Park. But there is whole lot of ground to cover up there. Lots of parks and coastlines to check out.

Camped in Pamplin Grove, in among the redwoods, at one of the International Redwood Gatherings. Was where I got to meet Evan, Lena & Katie in person! It is an amazing feeling to be among these giants, especially when you are the only one there...very spiritual experience that brought me to tears.
